It’s blocked here in the US as well. I used the VPN built into Opera Browser to make it think I was watching from Europe.

They look good and are quick too. Won’t be long before they are fighting with the Peugeots, Audis, and VWs. It’s also great to see Prodrive back on dirt.

Honestly, I’m not sure we’ll see them fighting straight with the others. Not because there’s anything lacking with the car but because of shortcomings in the driver department. GC’s a Dakar racer (and not one of the top ones if I’m honest), and Jerome has been an also-ran in EuroRX the past four years. One win and four total podiums in four full seasons.

True, I hadn’t really thought of that. Imagine if they were able to bring in someone from Prodrive’s history such as Atkinson. Too bad they probably wouldn’t be able to steal him from Subaru.

I’m not convinced Atko would be much better. He was a B-list WRC driver, hasn’t set the world on fire in GRC, and aside from Petter stage rally guys haven’t exactly been setting the world on fire in WorldRX. Even Loeb is just kinda average. Also, GC’s clearly going for the “all-French” angle here. Davy Jeanney won a few events with Peugeot, he’d be a good pick. Or give Cyril Raymond a shot at the top, that kid doesn’t know how to lose a race in a Lites car.

I don’t think we have ever really seen what Atkinson is capable of. He joined SWRT right at the start of their death slump, did a bit of WRC running in private cars, a bit for MINI, and a handful of one off events with Citroen and Hyundai. Subaru’s GRC program has never really been competitive either. Would he be competitive in WRX with good equipment? Who knows. I’m mostly just throwing him out there as someone who already has a connection with Prodrive.
I agree with you completely that someone needs to give Cyril Raymond a way out of the lites cars.
